About the opportunity
Raise is seeking to appoint new Trustees to its Board.
Raise aims to promote social and financial inclusion amongst Housing Association tenants and other residents of Liverpool, Merseyside and the surrounding areas. By providing home visits for welfare rights, money advice, and financial capability we aim to make this advice more accessible while helping people to maximise their income, manage their debts, and avoid evictions. By working in partnership with Housing Associations, credit unions, advice centres and other community groups and by providing training to staff, tenants, and others in the community we aim to enable people to access financial services
Like many charities, Raise is experiencing a decline in funding from both the public sector and housing associations and therefore it is necessary for us to seek new funding opportunities and outlets for our skills. Due to this we are looking for Trustees who will help our Board to develop our operations into new contracts with housing associations, develop our fundraising strategy as well as oversee the continued success of our existing service with digital advancements. Trustees will benefit by helping to contribute to the development and transition of an important charity and use there skills to move the Charity forward.
What are we looking for?
The present skills and experience of our Board includes finance, equality issues, voluntary sector, RSLs and legal. It is hoped that new Board members will offer some the following areas of expertise: Digital strategy, HR, and income generation. We are also seeking to strive for a wider diversity in our Board membership. Any prospective Trustee’s must be able to commit to attending at least five board meetings a year.
